Geometry Dash Altra caught my eye recently, and it really tested my patience. It is not an official update from RobTop. Instead, it is a brilliant fan-made remake of the classic rhythm platformer. If you want fresh beats and new level layouts, this version delivers. I spent hours trying to beat these 6 new levels, and my fingers are still tired!
Here is everything you need to know before you jump in.
Think of it as a fresh coat of paint on a classic car. The core gameplay remains exactly the same. You still guide a little square block through endless spikes and bottomless pits. However, Altra brings a unique twist.
It features remade levels like Stereo Madness 2023. The graphics look much smoother. The color palettes are richer and easier on the eyes. Plus, the traps feel a bit more unpredictable compared to the original game.
Your main goal is simple. Survive until the song ends. You must jump over obstacles and avoid crashing into walls. Timing is everything here. You have to match your jumps perfectly to the background music beat. The cube moves forward automatically. Therefore, you only need to focus on your reaction time.
I play a lot of platformers. I found Altra to be a really solid challenge. The game has 6 levels ranging from 1 to 7 stars in difficulty.
The first level, Stereo Madness 2023, is a nice warm-up. But things get crazy when you reach Chaoz Fantasy (6 stars). The gravity shifts there caught me off guard multiple times. I died at least 50 times just trying to learn the jumping pattern. Can't Let Go 2.0 is even worse. It is the hardest level of the bunch.
My best advice? Do not ignore Practice Mode. I always use it to set checkpoints and learn the exact timing for tricky jumps. Taking short breaks also stopped me from rage-quitting.
If you want something a bit different after beating this, you should try playing Geometry Dash Central Core. Or, if you need a classic challenge to cool down Geometry Dash Lite is always a fun choice.
