How to play Car Racer: Controls and Tips

Controlling your vehicle in this game is very easy to learn. You do not need a complicated keyboard setup. You only need your mouse.

• Steer: Drag your mouse right or left to change lanes and dodge those tricky barriers.
• Accelerate: Press and hold the left mouse button to speed up. This also helps keep your car stable on straight paths.
• Brake: Release the mouse button to slow down.

Here is a quick tip from my playtime. Sometimes, releasing the button for just a brief moment is the best way to avoid a sudden crash. Do not just hold the speed down the entire time!

How do you upgrade your vehicle?

Winning races gives you cash. You can spend your hard-earned money in two main areas: the Shop and the Garage.

In the Car Racer Shop, you buy temporary power-ups. A Nitro boost gives you a massive burst of speed to pass opponents. A Shield protects you from one fatal crash. I always buy a Shield when I am trying to beat a tough lobby. If you are short on cash, you can also purchase more here.

The Game's Garage is where you make permanent changes. You can unlock brand-new cars that have better base stats than the starter vehicle. If you love the look of your current car, you can simply upgrade its Speed, Acceleration, or Handling. You can even paint it a custom color to stand out on the track.
